Actor, Dancer,
Singer

Want to know more about me? I'm glad to share!
My pronouns are he/him -- I was born and raised in a small town called New Albany, Indiana. I usually save some time and say I'm from right across the river from Louisville, Kentucky (which was a blessing, since I was able do to some great theatre in "The Ville" growing up)! I went to New Albany High School where I was extremely active in the award-winning theatre department. I went to Thesbian Festival and gained some experience in aerial silks. My drama teacher encouraged me to audition at her alma mater: Ball State University.
At Ball State, I graduated in 2019 with a BFA in Musical Theatre. During my time there, I found a love and appreciation for dance -- from dance heavy shows like Hairspray, Swing!, and A Chorus Line, to choreographing a piece in a play called Rosemary & Time (written by my best friend, Emma S.Rund). Dance has become an activity that keeps me smiling. During my collegiate summers, I had the pleasure of working at Porthouse Theatre in Kent, Ohio in Oklahoma!, Anything Goes, and Newsies! So much dancing -- and I loved it all.
After graduation, I immediately packed my bags and headed to Disney World!
Post Grad Life
No really -- I went to Disney World after graduation, but for work! I was accepted into the Disney College Program, and two weeks after I graduation I moved to Florida to start my training at the Most Magical Place on Earth. I worked at the resorts as a Children's Activities Cast Member, and when I tell you I had the best job, imagine this: playing games both inside and outside the pool, making campfires for s'mores, and being paid to watch Disney movies every night.
I usually worked at Pop Century, but got sent to other resorts when staffing was low -- most importantly, I made friends that I'll keep for the rest of my life.
I even got recognized as the cast member of the month in July and at the Quarterly Awards as the Memory Maker for Pop Century Resort. It was an amazing experience and I wanted to stay forever, but another opportunity arose.
While in Florida, I applied, auditioned, and interviewed for a position on Norwegian Cruise Lines. The process was very seamless and a month after my program at Disney was complete, I packed my bags again to head to San Juan, Puerto Rico to climb aboard the Norwegian Epic as a new Entertainment Cruise Staff Member!
This role was extremely similar to my job at Disney except instead of entertaining children, I was in charge of hyping up vacationing adults and families with games, parties, and events every day!
I also got to travel the Caribbean and enjoy the sights like the picture to the right, where I hiked forty-five minutes to get to this beautiful view at an old battle fortress in St. Johns. I got to enjoy two weeks of working before our guests had to leave due to Covid-19. I then stayed on board for another month and a half until I got off the boat
and quarantining back at my Indiana home.
Since being back on land, I have been in two virtual new play showcases via Zoom. I acted in two
10-minute plays, and I sent in pre-recorded singing videos of myself used for "intermissions." I was thrilled to have a piece of my own, "Rods & Cones" featured in one of these showcases too! I am currently editing that piece as well as finding some more things to write about during this time of artistic performing hiatus.
What Happens Now?
For the time being, I am getting my performing muscles moving by teaching dance at my old high school -- socially distant, but in person!
Getting up moving for a purpose and with a goal to teach these kids how to care for their instrument and get excited about dance is what's getting me through everything -- it's been a joy teaching and who knows where it'll take me!
Hobbies Picked Up During Quarantine
I am a person who cannot sit still. So, during this quarantine I've found a lot of things to occupy my time!
During Pride Month, I did a series of makeup looks inspired by the different flags in the queer community. I have a lot of pride as part of the LGBTQ+ community and this series was extremely fun, informative, and a great way to share some representation with friends! Those who commented on the post told me they had learned something new, or they felt represented because they haven't seen much in media about a certain group, and that made these photos even more special.
Double click on the pictures below to see the looks from my Instagram. You can then read the information on the featured flag that accompanied each photo!
(I also included two photos from college when I modeled as an ice king & a wood nymph for an advanced makeup class.)
Along with dabbling in makeup design, I have picked up some other hobbies as well!
I found a guitar at a thrift shop that happened to have 'Johnson' written on the neck, so I knew it was meant for me! I've picked up sewing -- mostly tailoring old clothes for my friends or myself or adding some pizzazz to thrifted pieces to make them one of a kind. I have even tried my hand at embroidery (and let me tell you,
my hand is very tired)!
I've also returned to my old hobbies of painting, cooking, singing, & dancing -- I've loved these activities for a long time, and they've all helped me create a space where I can stay sane and happy during this time.
